ISO.jpg

ISO Exercise:

Shutter speed is how fast the camera's shutter opens and closes. It can let more or less light into the sensor and lets the photographer capture moving objects with different amounts of blur.

Aperture is the width of the lens opening. Decreasing the aperture narrows the depth of field, allowing for a blurred background. Increasing the aperture opens the depth of field and

brings the entire photo into focus.

ISO is the sensitivity of the camera's sensor. Higher ISO allows the photographer to take photos in a darker environment, but the photo becomes more grainy. The effect is vice versa if the ISO is lowered.

Static

This photo achieves

static composition

because of the straight on angle to the screen. The screen is the dominant element and the supporting element is the computers.

The fist image achieves color because of the blue mural behind the subject in the orange flannel. The second shows shape because of the angular tree work sign. The third achieves line due to the grate on the vent. The fourth achieves value because of the bright subject against a dark background. The fifth demonstrates texture because of the birds feathers and the rocky ground. The sixth achieves form due to the combination of the railing and lighthouse together against the blue sky. The last shows space because the meadow and rolling hills are wide open.

The fist image achieves unity because the subjects are posing together. The warning poles in the second image demonstrate repetition. The football player in the third image show rhythm. The fourth image shows contrast because the the bright subject against the dark blurry background. The fifth image shows emphasis because the area of focus is very thin, allowing the bottle and close-by sand to standout. The surfer in the sixth is moving along the wave. The seventh image achieves variety because the shoes vary in shape, design, state, and color. The flowers in the demonstrate harmony because their colors are analogous. The last image shows proportion because the perspective makes Serg look miniature vs. the car.
